MAHASHIVRATRI 2026
The Night of Stillness, Awakening, and Grace
Jagannath Mandir, Brampton
At Jagannath Mandir, we observe Mahashivratri through Char Pehar Pooja,
continuous abhishek, bhajan, meditation, and collective devotion.
Devotees are invited to participate, offer prayers,
and experience the grace of Lord Shiva throughout the night.
When the Universe Pauses to Remember Shiva
The Sacred Flow of the Night
🕕 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
The night begins with Shiv Vivah and Shringar, symbolizing
the union of Shiva and Shakti — consciousness and energy.
This pehar represents creation and divine balance.
First Pehar —
The Invocation
🕙 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Abhishek and mantra chanting continue as the mind slowly withdraws
from the external world and turns inward.
This phase aligns with preservation and sustained awareness.
Second Pehar — Deepening Devotion
🕛 12:00 AM – 1:19 AM
The most subtle hours of the night, traditionally considered
ideal for meditation and japa.
According to Shaiva tradition, spiritual veils thin during this pehar,
allowing deeper connection with Shiva tattva.
Third Pehar —
Inner Stillness
🕐 1:20 AM – 2:20 AM
The final abhishek marks transformation and dissolution —
letting go of ego, fear, and limitation.
Bhajans and silent reflection guide devotees toward inner clarity.
Fourth Pehar — Awakening
🕓 4:00 AM
As dawn approaches, Mahamangalam Aarti is offered,
welcoming renewal, peace, and auspiciousness.
The night concludes, but the grace remains.
